Entirely new EOS-1D software
IEEE 1394 (“FireWire™”) gets images into your computer fast. Totally new EOS-1D software moves them once they arrive.
EOS-1D images can be brought to a compatible Windows(R) or Macintosh(R) computer using either the camera’s built-in IEEE 1394 connector (with transfer speeds up to a blazing 400Mbps), or by removing the CF card and inserting it into a card reader. Canon software includes an entirely new TWAIN driver (Windows) and Macintosh plug-in module, which have extensive capabilities including of course the ability to display JPEG and/or RAW EOS-1D images on-screen for editing and RAW file conversion purposes.
Canon’s new driver software for the EOS-1D allows you to view any image you shoot - JPEG or RAW - on your computer monitor almost immediately. Both thumbnail display of multiple images, or a full-screen enlarged preview of any single image, are possible. Of course, EOS-1D software also permits rotating images on-screen, viewing detailed shooting data for each image, and playing back sound recordings. Most importantly for some photographers, it also is the tool that “processes” RAW images to permit image-editing in your computer.
