White Balance
10 modes Balances des Blancs et Fonction Bracketing des Balances des Blancs
All digital SLRs provide white balance control. But none to date provide the variety of options available in the EOS-1D. From totally automatic control to precise dialing-in of the color temperature in kelvinvalues, white balance is an example of the designed-in flexibility of the EOS-1D, and an example of Canon’s belief that in a professional camera, decisions should be left to the photographer.
EOS-1D auto white balance is unique because it reads data off the CCD imaging sensor, as well as incident data through an external sensor on the front of the body. This “hybrid” white balance mode is ideal for shooting quickly in rapidly changing lighting conditions. (approx. 3000~7,000K color temperature)
Daylight
Ideal for shooting outside on sunny days (approx. 5,200K color temperature).
|
Shade
Ideal for shooting outside in the shade on sunny days (approx. 7,000K color temperature).
Overcast
Ideal for shooting outside on cloudy days, at dusk, or at dawn (approx. 6,000K color temperature).
Tungsten
Ideal for shooting under incandescent light (approx. 3,200K color temperature).
Fluorescent Light
Ideal for shooting under typical fluorescent lighting (approx. 4,000K color temperature).
Flash
Ideal for shooting with an EOS Speedlite (approx. 5,600K color temperature).
Custom
Custom white balance is sometimes the best method of all to obtain accurate color when shooting in mixed lighting or other unusual conditions. Photograph a white object or a gray card so that it covers the Spot metering circle in the center of the viewfinder, and use the EOS-1D’s menu settings to dial-in a custom white balance based on the lighting in that shot.(approx. 2,000~10,000K color temperature)
Manual Color Temperature Setting
With this option, the EOS-1D brings precise white balance control to a new level. It permits dialing in precise color values in degrees Kelvin, in 100-degree increments for amazingly fine control. The range available is from 2,800K to 10,000K.
